Freeride is the name of the game with BIC Windsurfing’s Wind Foil 130L C-TEC sled. Being made from carbon and fibreglass the Wind Foil 130L is both light yet responsive, relative to its all overall size. 130L volumes give enough float for heavyweights in super light winds yet remains responsive and nimble enough for riders at the lighter end of the spectrum.
Compatible with a variety of different Deep Tuttle hydrofoils it’s a board that’ll either cruise up to foiling speed as you learn the ropes, or for any flyer with experience, react effectively to pumping from the rear, levitating efficiently with committed rider imput.
Once flying BIC’s Techno Wind Foil 130L remains rock stock steady – its new school, foil specific compact design brushing off gusts of wind that may otherwise unsettle a non-specific platform. The great thing about this board is you can still windsurf it conventionally. But unlike foil ready boards the Techno Wind Foil 130L is designed with foiling in mind first and foremost.
If you’re a progressive rider the Techno Wind Foil 130L will still reward, allowing carving moves – such as foiling duck gybes, double ducks, downwind 3s and all manner of old school rig tricks, but performed whilst on foil. It’ll also accommodate boosting moods, able to be popped and jumped with fairly effortless input.
For any windfoiler looking at the performance freeride end of the windfoiling spectrum then BIC’s Wind Foil 130L will tick all the boxes. Check out the full test write up from our friends at Windsurfing Uk magazine.
